JOINT AND BURSA INJECTIONS

A joint is where two bones are connected using a complex interplay between tendons, ligaments, and joint fluid. Many people suffer from joint pain for various reasons. Joint injections can be a very powerful tool to help reduce pain.

Bursa are thin, lubricated cushions located at points of friction between a bone and the surrounding soft tissue, such as skin, muscles, ligaments and tendons. A bursa lies between a bone and opposing surface (e.g. skin) like a tiny water balloon with only a few drops of fluid in it wedged between two surfaces

Common conditions where the bursa or a joint is a problem may  include, but are certainly not limited to -hip bursitis, shoulder bursitis, arthritis, trigger finger, tennis elbow, SI joint dysfunction.

We perform most joint injections with the use of Ultrasound to accurately place the medication in the proper location.
